In Japan, people usually use envelopes when they give someone money.
This shiny bamboo money envelope can be used as a gift or for returning money. There is a famous story in Japan about a princess Kaguya: An old man found a beautiful shining bamboo. When he cut it, there was a small girl inside it - princess Kaguya.
There is no princess in this envelope, but you can put whatever you like instead and surprise someone.
