All stoles are handmade in the atelier MAKUMO, so each piece is unique and varies slightly in size and color.

■ cloth quality
MAKUMO makes all of their stoles with cloth from Hamamatsu.
Hamamatsu is famous for their cloth because the warm weather there is perfect for cotton cultivation.
Using double gauze makes the cloth soft. In addition they have high breathable and water absorptive qualities.

The small atelier of MAKUMO is located close to the sea in Itoshima, Fukuoka.
Designs created by Miki, printed on textiles by Tomota and sawed by Yukiko form the unique textile products of MAKUMO.
MAKUMO is the name of an old instrument of which nobody knows what sound it makes and how it looks like.
So everyone can build their own imagination of what makumo is.
The patterns of MAKUMO come from many imaginations,and new imaginations keep coming.
